Eccentric press is a type of pressing machine with the mechanical drive. One of these mechanical presses is eccentric press LEK 160. It was manufactured in 1985 by Czechoslovakian firm ZTS Kosice which is a private joint-stock company operating in the field of engineering (machinery) and electro technical products. Eccentric press LEK 160 thanks to its structure is ideal for different types of works such as pressing, punching, cutting, straightening, assembly and disassembly of different components in a light industry, metallurgy, chemical industry and other kinds of metal working industry.The machine cans also forging small forgings.
The main advantages of this and other kind of mechanical presses before other presses, for example before hydraulic are: high speed, more compact layout of machinery, relatively low power drive. During the working operation, processing material (metal sheet) is placed on the die screwed to the working table, which has length 39.375 inches and width 29.141 inches. Then slider, with length is 27.953 inches and width is 16.734 inches performs reciprocating action and process the workpiece with force 176 US tons. Reciprocating movement of the slider is generated by the eccentric and connecting rod by rotary motion of the flywheel and shaft. Maximum distance between the surface of the working table and slider, in lower position is 17.906 inches. Minimum stroke of the slider is equal to 0.984 inch and maximum stroke is equal to 6.297 inches. This press can perform maximally 50 strokes per minute. It is driven by electrical motor with power 11 KW. Eccentric presses LEK 160 has length 94.484 inches, width 54.328 inches and it height is equal to 131.890 inches. Machine is quite heavy and has weight 28660 lb. Notwithstanding this eccentric press has already 30 years, it is still under power and is in a good condition.
